Defense Gun Targets
Defense gun matches are held once or twice a month, usually on a Tuesday beginning at 7 PM. (Check the Yahoo Group announcement and postings for more details regarding dates and time)
A typical course of fire will be 6 rounds fired twice at 12, 10 and 8 seconds. You load your magazine with 6 rounds but do not insert it. You step back about 3 feet.
When the buzzer sounds, you insert the magazine or close your cylinder.
Then you fire stopping when the second buzzer sounds.
You alternate between head and body with each shot. No alibis are taken.
Center fire weapons are used. Scoring is based on the number of hits.
This is a fun match and also provides some practical experience.
